NOTE: this is an es transmission. it can be used on an 'i engine. However; the linkage and drive shaft MAYBE DIFFERENT.
YOU EITHER HAVE TO SWAP OUT THE BACKS OF THE TRANSMISSIONS SO THE LINKAGE WILL WORK OR FIND THE CORRECT e FLYWHEEL, e CLUTCH, e SHIFTER LINKAGE AND e DRIVE SHAFT.
HAVE A GOOD HARD LOOK AT THE REAR OF THIS UNIT. THE LINKAGE AND DRIVE SHAFT ARE NOT THE SAME AS THE LATER 325i. IT TAKES A PROP SHAFT SO THE LIKAGE HAS TO ACOMODATE IT.
SO IF YOU HAVE A LATER E30 325i THIS IS THE SAME UNIT INTERNALLY BUT THE CASE, ESPECIALLY THE REAR, IS DIFFERENT.
IF YOU HAVE AN AUTOMATIC AND ARE LOOKING FOR A SWAP YOU NEED TO FIND THE LINKAGE AND DRIVESHAFT FOR A 1985 E30 325e MANUAL.
IT IS NOT THE SAME AS THE i . UNLESS YOUR 325i HAS A PROP SHAFT THEN IT SHOULD BE COMPATIBLE.
